Our Story
At Crafters Creations, we believe in the beauty of handmade craftsmanship and the power of community. Owned by Virginia Shepherd, a lifelong artisan with a passion for sewing that began in her childhood, this store is more than just a business—it’s a heartfelt endeavor to support local talent.
Virginia, now in her 80s, has spent decades perfecting her craft. You may even recognize her unique, hand-sewn pieces from her other venture, Ugly Cup Covers. Life recently brought some unexpected changes, and Virginia needed a way to support herself while continuing to do what she loves. So, when the opportunity arose to take over the beloved local shop, formerly known as The Bag Ladies, she seized it. Crafters Creations was born.
Nestled in a cozy corner of Creamery Square, Crafters Creations may be off the beaten path, but it’s a hidden gem filled with treasures made by local hands. The vast majority of our artisans come from the surrounding community, each with their own unique stories to tell. They pour their passion into every handcrafted hat, piece of jewelry, pottery, and painting, creating one-of-a-kind items that can’t be found anywhere else.
Virginia’s vision is simple but profound: to offer a space where artisans can not only showcase their talents but also make a living from their craft. With each purchase, you’re not just buying a gift; you’re supporting a dream, a livelihood, and the tradition of handmade art. Every item in the store is crafted with care, making it the perfect gift for all occasions, whether you’re celebrating a birthday, holiday, or simply the joy of giving.
We invite you to come visit us and be a part of something special. When you step through our doors, you’ll find more than just beautiful creations—you’ll find a community of creators whose passion is reflected in every stitch, brushstroke, and design. Let’s keep the art of crafting alive, together.
